From the Algonquin Police Department: We are sorry to have to post the following, but recently Algonquin and surrounding communities have been targeted by offenders entering unlocked vehicles and taking valuables that have been left in those vehicles.

There has also been thefts of motor vehicles due to victims leaving keys inside their vehicles. We ask that you PLEASE remember to lock your vehicles at night and take all valuables out. We have increased patrols in your neighborhoods but ask that you call us with any suspicious activity at the time of occurrence.
