Help your family, future generations and the environment by recycling! Did you know that 11.3 million tons of clothing/blankets/drapes/shoes/towels /sheets/other textiles are discarded each year? Be a part of the solution by recycling or donating textiles. Keep it out of the landfills - ripped, stained, unwearable clothing or other textiles can be recycled. Wash the items and then drop it off for textile recycling on May 3 at Carpenter Park, 275 Maple Avenue, Carpentersville from 9:00 a.m. to noon. (Clean textiles can also be dropped off at the West Dundee Public Works, 900 Angle Tarn, West Dundee on weekdays from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) If you have gently used towels or small blankets, contact an animal rescue organization or another non-profit to see if they could use them. Styrofoam can be dropped off at the Village of Algonquin Public Works Styrofoam shed at 110 Mitchard Way, Algonquin. Styrofoam takes an estimated 500 years to decompose, please drop it off for recycling. Thank you!
