Committee of the Whole Meeting - May 10th

The Village Board will be meeting on Tuesday, May 3 starting at 7:20 p.m. for a special Liquor Commission, followed by a Village Board Meeting. The Village Board meeting agenda items include: administer oath of office to Police Officer Moore; proclamations for Police Week, Police Memorial Day and National Public Works Week; appointments; approve prior meeting minutes and bills; and approve public event for St. Margaret Mary Catholic School 5K. Retired Trustee Jim Steigert was a wonderful person who was dedicated to Algonquin. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family and friends.

Steigert served on the Algonquin Village Board for 22 years, from in 1999 to 2021. Prior to his role as Village Trustee, Steigert served on the Village of Algonquin’s Economic Development Commission for seven years and also volunteered with many community organizations that shared his passion of service to the Algonquin community. Former Gander Mtn. Location
From the Village of Algonquin: The Village recently issued permits to The RoomPlace for the renovation and build out of the retail space located at 1400 S Randall Rd in #Algonquin. The home furniture store will expand their floorplan by over 20,000 square feet and add new jobs at the new location, all while remaining in the Algonquin community.
Work is scheduled to be complete in May with an opening scheduled for June
Fox 32 Chicago stopped by today with artist Wayne Kusy to talk about his replica of the schooner #Algonquin – the ship once owned by one of Algonquin’s founders the Village is named after. The replica, completed in 2017 through the Village’s Public #Art program, is made of 11,400 toothpicks and is on display in the lobby at the Ganek Municipal Center.- From Village of Algonquin
