Prairie Trail Construction Update (from Public Works)

Last week, crews were able to install the new pergola! This elegant structure matches the features in the downtown area and will create a place for residents and trail users to pause and relax.

This week, progress will resume work on the pedestrian bridge. With warmer temperatures and drier conditions, the construction crew will be able to place the concrete for the bridge abutments. Once the abutments (supports walls) are complete, the new prefabricated bridge, which was constructed offsite, can be delivered and installed.

Please note: There are free, public parking lots near the trail (marked on the detour map below). Please park in these lots and not in the construction zone. Also, as an important reminder, during COVID-19 we ask that trail users not stop and congregate on the trail.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we construct this project!
